Silhouettes
This project explores the visual language of silhouettes — a technique often associated with flat, two-dimensional form. Throughout the month, I experimented with both color and black and white, but ultimately found that black and white offered the most space for contrast, shape, and emotion to take the lead. The images in this gallery include photos created during the month as well as earlier works that informed my approach. This collection also features photos from a recent exhibit reception in which two of my photographs were displayed.
